Woody Marshall

Woody joined TCV in 2008 and has been working in the venture capital industry since 1995. He focuses on investments in the fintech, internet, and the digital media & entertainment industries. Woody has been recognized by Forbes on its Midas List as one of the industry’s top technology investors.

Woody currently serves on the boards of directors of Built, GoFundMe, ÃÛÌÒÇéÈË (NYSE: NRDY), Newsela, Payoneer (NASDAQ: PAYO), Sojern, and Spotify (NYSE: SPOT). His other active investments include Airbnb (NASDAQ: ABNB), Believe (Euronext Paris: BLV), Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: EA), Hotmart, Humu, Miro, Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX), Nubank (NYSE: NU), Peloton (NASDAQ: PTON), SeatGeek, and VICE Media. Prior investments and board memberships include Dollar Shave Club (acquired by Unilever), Green Dot (NYSE: GDOT), Groupon (NASDAQ: GRPN), HomeAway (acquired by Expedia), Retail Merchant Services (acquired by SaltPay), Twilio (NYSE: TWLO), and XRS (acquired by Omnitracs).

Prior to joining TCV, Woody spent 12 years at Trident Capital, a venture capital and private equity firm, where he focused on the payments, internet, and mobile markets. Woody earned his B.A. from Hamilton College and his M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Woody is also on the Board of Trustees of Hamilton College.
